di li cang bao geocoin contest

di li cang bao geocoins created and donated by Ernies of Switzerland

Since these coins represent China, we thought it would be fun to hear from you about your most interesting cache found in another country (other than your own). If you have never cached in a different country, you can just tell us which country you would most like to cache in - and that will enter you in the contest.

Call in your story to the PodCacher hotline, or send an email to podcacher@gmail.com with "China geocoin" as the subject.

Winners will be chosen by dice roll and we might share some of the stories on future shows

Contest entry deadline: Dec 5, 2009

  1. In May of 2006 my wife and I were on a cruise that took us to Tallinn Estonia. Before we arrived we made friends with a couple that were really into geocaching. They were surprised that I hadn’t participated in the activity, as I am computer literate and love gadgets, but I had not heard of Geocaching. While on a city tour of Tallinn we decided to get off the tour bus at the end of the tour, and walk back to the ship. As we were headed near the City Gate, I heard my name called, and it was the couple from the ship. They were excited to show us a small container hidden near the gate in some shrubbery and it contained a few Euro coins and “The Log” This was the first cache I had encountered and at that time I decided to check into Geocaching as soon as I returned. I could have signed the log but I let the opportunity slip through my fingers. When I Returned home I checked out Geocaching.com and was immediately hooked. Now all I have to do is go back to Tallinn Estonia and sign that log for the smiley.
